CHOICE is building a set of interactive tools to help women with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations think through their prevention and treatment options. These include virtual patients (computer-based simulations of clinical situations) and decision trees built into serious games.

What the tool does in practice:

• You enter some personal information and get guidance tailored to your situation, covering options like enhanced screening, prophylactic mastectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, and chemoprevention.
• The tool draws on a multilingual health literacy dictionary developed by the project, which includes over 2,000 terms adapted to different cultural contexts.
• It uses AI-based sentiment analysis to pick up on emotional concerns as you interact with it. So it’s not just about medical facts; the tool also tries to recognise when you might be feeling overwhelmed or anxious.
• It will be available in English, Czech, Portuguese, and Greek.
• It works on both desktop and mobile.

This tool is currently under development. It will be available on this website by late 2027, following testing with real users across Portugal, Czechia, and Greece.
