The CHOICE project continues to lead the conversation on how innovation can transform patient care. On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the CHOICE team participated in the impactful event “Leaps of Life through Dialogues” (Άλματα Ζωής μέσα από Διαλόγους), held at the KEDEA Research Dissemination Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
New Technologies and Cancer: A Keynote Presentation
A highlight of the event was the keynote speech delivered by Professor Panagiotis Bamidis, Head of the AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab and a leading partner in the CHOICE project. His presentation, titled “New Technologies and Cancer: Impact on Evolution, Diagnosis, and Treatments,” explored the cutting-edge digital advancements that are currently reshaping the medical landscape. Professor Bamidis discussed how artificial intelligence, medical physics, and digital health tools are improving early diagnosis and enabling more personalized treatment pathways. This technological evolution is at the heart of the CHOICE project, which aims to provide women with BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2 mutations the digital resources they need to make informed decisions about their health.
About Alma Zois: The Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by breast cancer survivors with one vision: a world without deaths because of breast cancer. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that all members, volunteers, and members of the Board are breast cancer survivors.
Bridging Innovation and Empowerment
By participating in such vital community dialogues, the CHOICE project strengthens the bond between clinical research and the people it serves. We remain committed to ensuring that the “leaps” made in medical technology translate into real-world support and empowerment for every woman facing hereditary cancer risk.
