Walking for a Future Without Breast Cancer

1–2 minutes

The AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab, a key partner in the CHOICE project, is proud to highlight its ongoing collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” in Thessaloniki. Together, we are standing by women who face an increased hereditary risk of breast cancer, offering them the tools and support they need to navigate their health journey with confidence.

Walking for Hope: The “Pink Together” Milestone

A major highlight of this partnership took place on October 12, 2025, when our team in Thessaloniki joined the “Pink Together” walk—the largest breast cancer awareness campaign in Northern Greece. Walking from the Statue of Alexander the Great to the Thessaloniki Sailing Club, our team stood side-by-side with survivors and advocates to promote the value of prevention and early diagnosis. This event served as a powerful reminder that through collective action, we can turn uncertainty into empowerment.

Our Mission: Knowledge is Power: Every woman with an increased genetic risk deserves access to reliable information and expert guidance. As part of the European CHOICE project, the AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab is specifically supporting women who carry mutations in the BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2 genes. Our goal is to help these women better understand their options, answer their clinical questions, and strengthen their decision-making regarding their health and future.

About Alma Zois: The Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by breast cancer survivors with one vision: a world without deaths because of breast cancer. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that all members, volunteers, and members of the Board are breast cancer survivors.

This partnership continues to bridge the gap between digital health innovation and peer-led support, ensuring that women at high risk are never alone.
